About Doom of Egypt
Doom of Egypt (April 2019) belongs to Play'n GO's extended Book of Dead franchise — not strictly the Rich Wilde saga, but a cousin chapter set in an Egyptian tomb theme. The player explores the tomb of a forgotten pharaoh in search of a cursed treasure.
The structure: 5x3 reels, 10 fixed paylines, stakes from €0.10 to €50 (a max bet of €50 versus the standard €100 — a slight limitation for high rollers). Top-tier RTP of 96.21%. High volatility. Degraded configurations of 91.25% and lower exist depending on the casino.
The standout feature of Doom of Egypt: the scarab beetle acts as both a wild AND a scatter — a rare combination in Play'n GO's catalogue. It substitutes for other symbols to form wins, and 3 or more scarabs anywhere trigger the Free Spins.
Free Spins: 10 spins are awarded on trigger. Before it starts, the game randomly selects a symbol that becomes the "special expanding symbol" for the bonus. This symbol expands reel-wide whenever it lands 2 or more times, similar to Book of Dead. Anubis (the highest pay) offers huge max-win potential if chosen as the expanding symbol.
The unique max win is 5,000x stake when all 5 reels fill with Anubis. But in Free Spins, this trigger can repeat several times — hence the 25,000x total cap announced by Play'n GO (5,000x times 5 theoretical hits). It's one of the first Play'n GO slots to reach such a high cap in 2019 — a marker of the studio's shift toward modern 25,000x+ sequels.
Ideal for Book of Dead fans looking for a cousin Egyptian alternative, and players who enjoy the scarab wild/scatter combo. Not for Bonus Buy chasers.
