Pink Elephants 2 was released on 24 April 2020 as an operator exclusive, then went into wide distribution in early May. It is a separate game from the 2017 original: same visual universe, same grid, but a different return rate and a different win ceiling. This page covers the sequel only, and the figures below do not apply to the first instalment.

Thunderkick kept the dreamlike savannah of the first game, its nocturnal palette and its floating soundtrack, while giving the animation detail more attention. The studio did not set out to reinvent the formula: what it mostly did was retune the mathematical model rather than the mechanic. A player who knows the original will find their bearings immediately, right down to the placement of the meters on screen.

The grid is unchanged: 6 reels and 4 rows, for 4,096 ways to win. Any run of identical symbols placed left to right on adjacent reels pays, whatever height it sits at. Stakes run from €0.10 to €100 a spin. The quoted RTP is 96.13%, a marginal difference from the 96.1% of the first instalment, but maximum exposure moves from 8,200x to 10,000 times the stake. The Mystery Scatter mechanic returns. In the base game, one or more mystery symbols can appear and then reveal themselves as scatters, one to five at a time. Scatters obtained during the phase add further spins, giving the meters time to fill and the transformations time to take effect.
