About Lightning Roulette
Released in March 2018, Lightning Roulette is the live roulette that invented the random multiplier mechanic on the game table. Before it, live roulettes were strictly traditional. Lightning Roulette redefined the category by adding 1 to 5 numbers 'struck by lightning' each round, with multipliers from x50 to x500. The format is a classic single-zero European roulette with 37 pockets (0 + 1-36). Before every round, during the betting window (15-20 seconds), 1 to 5 numbers are randomly struck by lightning with a multiplier drawn from x50, x100, x150, x200, x300, x400, or x500. If the ball lands on one of these numbers AND you bet straight up on it (a single number), your base payout (35x) is replaced by payout × multiplier — potentially 500x your straight-up stake.
On the math side, it's subtle: base RTP of 97.30% on classic bets (red/black, odd/even, dozens, columns…) thanks to single zero. RTP drops to 96.50% on straight-up Lightning bets, because the standard 35x payout is replaced by 30x to fund the occasional multipliers. The house edge averages ~3.5% on Lightning bets vs ~2.7% on classic bets. A x500 Lightning hit is rare (~1 in 700 rounds on a given number), but when it lands, the thrill is unmatched.
