About Curse of the Pharaoh
Curse of the Pharaoh is an Evoplay slot that went live in September 2021. The studio picked one of the most crowded themes on the market, a pharaoh's tomb with its gods and its hieroglyphs, but paired it with symbols that fall through the grid rather than reels that stop as a block. The layout is five reels and three rows for 20 fixed paylines. Evoplay publishes an RTP of 95.97% and states medium volatility, which places the title among the steadier games rather than those that run long stretches without a return.
The core mechanic is called Drops and Multipliers. Every winning combination removes the symbols involved, new symbols drop in to fill the gaps, and a single spin can therefore chain several wins. A multiplier displayed above the reels tracks that progression: the first win pays at x1, the win produced by the first drop at x2, the next at x3, then x5. As soon as a drop fails to form a combination the counter resets to x1 and the spin ends. The ladder is short, but it fills quickly once the grid opens up.
Symbols fall into two families. The premium end is held by Egyptian deities, Ra, Bastet, Anubis and the ibis, while the hieroglyphs, a feather, a set of waves and an ankh, sit at the bottom of the paytable. The wild is the pharaoh's death mask, it is restricted to the central reels, and it substitutes for everything except the scatter, which takes the form of a solar engraving.
Free spins start from three scatters and open a selection screen. Evoplay publishes three formats: 18 free spins with x2, x4, x6 and x10 multipliers; 12 free spins with x3, x6, x9 and x15; or 6 free spins with x6, x12, x18 and x30. All three can be retriggered during the feature. The trade-off is stated plainly, the shorter the run, the higher the multipliers climb. A player after playing time takes the 18 spins, a player chasing the ceiling takes the 6.
The maximum win published by the studio is 210,225 EUR, which works out at 2,803 times the stake at the reference bet. The stake range recorded on the game's technical sheets runs from 0.10 EUR to 300 EUR per spin, leaving room for small bets stretched across a long session as well as shorter, heavier visits.
Evoplay also sells a separate release, Curse of the Pharaoh Bonus Buy, published in October 2021, which buys direct access to the free spins. The studio does not publish a price for that purchase and it varies by operator. On the standard version described here, the only route into the feature is through the scatters.
