Our read of the game, based on the data the studio publishes

The second entry in the John Hunter series (following Book of Tut) — and arguably the best in the saga if you enjoy the Money Collect mechanic. Base game Free Spins trigger on scatters, but it's the Money and Collect symbols that make the difference: a Money Multiplier can reach x25 and boosts every Money symbol collected. Medium volatility (3/5) keeps the base game playable, and a max win of 10,500x is very solid for a non-Megaways slot.

Strengths

+Clear and engaging Money Collect mechanic
+Money Multiplier up to x25 during free spins
+Medium volatility - steadier sessions than Wanted Dead
+10,500x max win, solid for a 5x3, 25-payline slot

To consider

−No bonus buy available
−Free spins can disappoint if few Money symbols appear
−A 95.50% RTP variant is applied by some casinos

About John Hunter and the Tomb of the Scarab Queen

Released in September 2019, this slot is the second chapter of the John Hunter adventurer series (after Book of Tut, before Wild Wild Bandits). Classic 5x3 format with 25 fixed paylines, the game stands out through its Money Collect mechanic: Money symbols land with a visible cash value, and a Collect symbol (the scarab) sweeps up all values present on reels 1-3-5. The free spins feature (8 spins, retriggerable) introduces five variants of Money symbols: Standard, Extra Credit, Multiplier (up to x25), Expanding, and Respin — it's this variety that creates the big wins.

▸5 types of Money symbols in free spins (including Multiplier x25)
▸3+ fireplace scatters = 8 free spins, retrigger possible
▸Wild Queen on reels 2-3-4
▸40% hit frequency - active sessions
