About Sugar Rush
Sugar Rush arrived in June 2022 and changed what a Pragmatic Play grid could look like. Instead of five reels it uses a 7x7 board with cluster pays: five or more identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically pay out, then vanish and let new symbols tumble in. The RTP is 96.50%, though operators can also load 95.50% or 94.50% builds, and it is worth a look at the information button before you start. Volatility is very high, but the 34.48% hit frequency means roughly one spin in three returns something — the 49-cell grid produces small clusters far more often than a five-reel layout does.
The paytable scales with cluster size rather than paying a fixed line amount. From smallest cluster to a board-filling one, the orange gummy bear pays 0.2x to 20x, the purple gummy bear 0.25x to 25x, the red gummy bear 0.3x to 30x, the green star 0.4x to 40x, the pink jelly bean 0.5x to 60x, the orange heart 0.75x to 100x and the top symbol, the pink lollipop, 1x to 150x your stake. Those numbers alone will never get you near the ceiling, which is the point: Sugar Rush pays through position, not through symbols.
Multiplier spots are the whole game. Every time a winning symbol is removed from a cell, that cell is marked with a x2 multiplier. If the same cell wins again during the same tumble sequence, its multiplier doubles: x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64, up to a x128 cap per cell. When a winning cluster covers cells carrying multipliers, all of them are added together and applied to that cluster's payout. In the base game the marks survive only until the tumble sequence ends and the spin resolves.
In the free spins they never reset. Landing three to seven scatters awards 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins respectively, with a retrigger worth up to 30 further spins, and every multiplier spot created during that round stays on the board until the last spin. A bonus that starts slowly can end up with a grid covered in x32 and x64 cells, at which point an ordinary six-symbol cluster becomes a session-defining win. That accumulation is why the game's 5,000x maximum win is reachable at all, and why the round is so front-loaded with tension.
A bonus buy at 100x your stake buys direct entry to the feature, unavailable on the UK market where the mechanic is prohibited. Stakes run from 0.20 EUR to 100 EUR. Pragmatic later extended the family: Sugar Rush 1000 (March 2024) raises the per-cell ceiling to x1,024 and the maximum win to 25,000x, while Sugar Rush Super Scatter (June 2025) keeps the x1,024 grid, runs a 96.58% headline RTP and adds Super Scatter symbols worth 100x, 500x, 5,000x or 50,000x that accumulate across a bonus round for a 50,000x ceiling. The original remains the cheapest and most forgiving way into the mechanic.
