About Gem Saviour Sword
Released on 5 January 2019, Gem Saviour Sword extends the Gem Saviour universe while completely changing format: the 6x6 puzzle grid gives way to a rail of 5 reels on a single row, with one payline. It is one of the most minimalist layouts PG Soft has ever produced. All the interest therefore shifts to the two features. The Cat Respin Feature triggers when cat symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4: they lock in place and award respins. The Bonus Wheel opens when three sword symbols occupy those same positions, giving access to a wheel that hands out multipliers. The RTP breakdown published by PG Soft is particularly telling: 31.56% for the base game, 28.69% for the Cat Respin and 35.29% for the Bonus Wheel. Close to two thirds of the theoretical return therefore plays out inside the bonuses, which in practice means dry base-game spins pay little and session profitability hinges on trigger frequency. The overall RTP of 95.54% remains the title's weak point: it is clearly lower than the 96.7% to 96.9% posted by more recent PG Soft releases. No maximum win cap is communicated by the studio, and there is no bonus buy.
