9 Coins went out on exclusive release on 6 June 2022 and reached general distribution on 7 July 2022. It became the modern reference point in Wazdan's catalogue and the seed of an entire series, with Grand Gold, Grand Platinum and Extremely Hot editions following behind it. The design decision at the heart of it is unusually blunt: a three-by-three grid with a single betway and no prizes at all in the base game. Every payout in the game comes out of the bonus round, and the spins that precede it exist only to open it.
Entry comes from landing three symbols on the middle row, which starts Hold the Jackpot. The Cash Infinity symbol makes that easier: it is sticky and holds its position from spin to spin until the bonus fires, so the grid gradually loads in your favour rather than resetting each time. Land one on the middle row and it carries a value of 5x to 10x the stake into the round.
Once the bonus starts you get three respins, reset back to three every time a new symbol lands. Cash symbols are worth 1x to 5x. The Collector gathers every Cash and Cash Infinity value on screen and multiplies the total by a random factor of 1x to 9x, which is the single biggest swing in the round. Mystery symbols transform into any other bonus symbol except Cash Infinity, and Jackpot Mystery symbols turn into Mini, Minor or Major jackpots. That Grand is also the game's hard ceiling. The published maximum win of 500x is exactly what a full grid pays, so unlike most modern slots there is no gap between the advertised maximum and the maximum a player can actually reach.
