3 Genie Wishes

Q: What is the RTP of 3 Genie Wishes?

Pragmatic Play states 96.53% on the reference build, a figure confirmed on the official game page. The studio does however ship several RTP configurations to operators, and some casinos run a version closer to 94%. The rate actually applied is listed in the paytable, reachable from the in-game menu, and it is worth checking before committing a serious budget.

Q: What stake should you plan per spin?

From 0.50 to 250 per spin. You first set the coin value, between 0.01 and 0.50, then the number of coins wagered on each line, up to ten. The fifty paylines are fixed and always active, which is why the minimum stake never drops below fifty cents.

Our read of the game, based on the data the studio publishes

3 Genie Wishes is nearly ten years old and you can hear it in the first few seconds: a repetitive orientalist music loop, stiff animations, an interface that predates Pragmatic Play's graphical overhaul. Unlike some of the studio's other classics, this one has never been refreshed. Mechanically, it holds up. Stacked genies regularly produce multiple winning lines, and the extra row — four instead of the usual three — noticeably raises the frequency of combinations. The pace is comfortable: you lose slowly, which is exactly what medium volatility promises. Over an hour at a low stake, the balance drifts down in steps rather than in lurches. The real complaint concerns the bonus. The three-wish pick-and-click is staged as the game's big moment, except that one of the four outcomes returns 1x the stake, which is to say nothing. After a wait often counted in hundreds of spins, being handed a consolation prize is genuinely deflating, and it happens often enough to define a whole session. The two free spin formats are far more satisfying: raining wilds over ten spins fill the grid handsomely, while sticky wilds over six spins give fewer rounds but visible progress from one spin to the next. The other limitation is the ceiling. Serious sources cannot agree on an official figure, and for good reason: Pragmatic Play publishes no maximum win for this title. They all describe, however, a game that does not play in the big-multiplier category, the highest instant bonus award being worth 500x the stake. Anyone hunting a four or five-figure potential is in the wrong place. What remains is an honest machine for long play on a measured budget, subject to checking the return to player your casino actually serves. At 96.53% the deal is reasonable; at 94% the same session becomes far harder to defend, and there are a good dozen more modern Pragmatic titles available at the same price.

Strengths

+96.53% RTP on the reference build, above the studio average
+Frequent stacked genies keep base-game wins coming
+Two genuinely different free spin formats, raining or sticky wilds
+Very wide stake range, from 0.50 to 250 per spin
+Comfortable medium volatility for long low-budget sessions

To consider

−One of the four bonus outcomes returns only 1x the stake, so disappointment is common
−Low win potential, with no official ceiling published by Pragmatic Play
−Several casinos run a 94% RTP version without flagging it clearly
−A 2016 production that has never been refreshed
−No bonus buy and no modern mechanic such as cascades or cumulative multipliers

3 Genie Wishes in detail

Released on 5 December 2016, 3 Genie Wishes belongs to the first generation of Pragmatic Play machines, the one that came before tumbling reels and Megaways grids. The layout runs five reels across four rows, with fifty fixed paylines that cannot be reduced or switched off: the stake always spreads the same way. You adjust it through coin value, from 0.01 to 0.50, then through the number of coins per line, up to ten. That gives a range of 0.50 to 250 per spin, a wide spread for a title of this vintage. The artwork borrows everything from Aladdin iconography: oil lamp, scimitar, overflowing chest, carpet. The genie acts as the wild and lands stacked across the full height of a reel. It substitutes for every symbol except the lamp and produces most of the base-game wins, because the ordinary symbols pay very little — the playing-card values in particular return almost nothing. The heart of the game is the magic lamp. It only appears on reels 1, 3 and 5, and all three together open the three-wish bonus. The screen then shows three objects, you point at one, and the wish releases one of four rewards: ten free spins with raining wilds, six free spins with sticky wilds, an instant win worth between 10x and 500x the stake, or a consolation prize of 1x. That last possibility changes the nature of the game entirely: landing the bonus guarantees nothing at all, and it happens regularly that you sit through the whole build-up only to get your stake back. The return to player announced by Pragmatic Play is 96.53%, above the studio average. One important caveat though: as with much of the catalogue, the developer ships several RTP configurations to operators, and some casinos run a noticeably lower version, around 94%. The figure actually in force appears in the paytable, reachable from the in-game menu. Volatility is medium. Spins follow one another without long dry spells, small returns keep the balance ticking over, but the ceiling stays modest against the studio's recent output. There is no bonus buy option: Pragmatic Play was not yet offering that feature in 2016, and the game has never been updated to add it.

❓Frequently asked questions about 3 Genie Wishes

What is the RTP of 3 Genie Wishes?▾

Pragmatic Play states 96.

53% on the reference build, a figure confirmed on the official game page. The studio does however ship several RTP configurations to operators, and some casinos run a version closer to 94%. The rate actually applied is listed in the paytable, reachable from the in-game menu, and it is worth checking before committing a serious budget.

How is the three-wish bonus triggered?▾

You need all three magic lamps on the same spin, and they only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5.

The game then shows three objects and you pick a single one. The wish releases one of four rewards: free spins with raining wilds, free spins with sticky wilds, an instant win of 10x to 500x the stake, or a plain consolation prize worth 1x.

Can you buy the bonus on 3 Genie Wishes?▾

No, there is no buy option.

The game launched in December 2016, before Pragmatic Play rolled out feature buys across its catalogue, and it has never been updated on that front. The bonus only triggers through the lamps landing naturally in the base game, which makes the wait noticeably longer than on the studio recent releases.

What is the volatility of 3 Genie Wishes?▾

Medium, according to every database consulted.

Stacked genies produce multiple winning lines fairly often across the fifty active paylines, which avoids long barren stretches, but the amounts recovered stay contained. This is a profile built to go the distance on a measured budget, not to chase a single big hit.

What is the maximum win?▾

Pragmatic Play publishes no official ceiling for this title, and the specialist databases openly contradict one another, quoting anything from 500x to several thousand times the stake.

What is established and verifiable: the highest instant award inside the bonus is worth 500x, and the game was clearly not designed around large multipliers.

What stake should you plan per spin?▾

From 0.

50 to 250 per spin. You first set the coin value, between 0. 01 and 0. 50, then the number of coins wagered on each line, up to ten. The fifty paylines are fixed and always active, which is why the minimum stake never drops below fifty cents.

Is 3 Genie Wishes still worth playing?▾

For long sessions on a tight budget, yes, provided you land on the 96.

53% build. Visually the title shows its age and the win potential is low against the studio recent output. It is an honest back-catalogue game rather than a headline act, and the 1x consolation prize regularly deflates the mood.
