Burning Chilli X launched on November 17, 2022, and it's the fruity-classic slot with a record RTP from BGaming. RTP 97.25% — top 3 in BGaming's entire portfolio, behind Plinko XY (98.91-99.16%) and Lucky Lady's Clover (97.31%). Among classic 5x4 format slots, it's mathematically the best the portfolio has to offer.
But the slot has one particularity: no free spins, no bonus buy. Just a pure base game with selectable paylines from 20 to 100 and Sevens Wilds + Chilli Scatters. It's a deliberate editorial choice — a slot for players who want high RTP and simplicity, not bonus-round dopamine.
TL;DR — Burning Chilli X in 4 points
- BGaming slot, November 2022, fruity-classic theme. 5x4 format with selectable paylines (20, 40, 60, 80, or 100). RTP 97.25% — top 3 in the portfolio.
- Low-medium volatility, accessible with a modest but consistent 3,000x max win.
- Basic mechanics: Sevens Wilds (substitute for paying symbols), Chilli Scatters (pay from any position). No free spins, no bonus buy.
- Min bet €0.20 / max bet €250 (a record for the BGaming portfolio). Top 5 spots: SpinAura, BetRiviera, CosmoBet, Vave, Betti.
Why launch a slot with no free spins in 2022?
It's a deliberate editorial choice by BGaming. Let's compare the mathematical EV:
| Approach | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| Slot with free spins + bonus buy | Bonus-round dopamine + high max win | RTP "diluted" to compensate |
| Pure base-game slot | RTP concentrated in the base game | Flatter emotional variance |
On Burning Chilli X, BGaming chose to concentrate the entire RTP in the base game. The result: 97.25% RTP, one of the highest on the market. No free spins, no bonus buy, no dilution.
That makes it mathematically the most EV-positive slot in BGaming's fruity portfolio.
Selectable paylines — the flexibility
Before every session, you choose how many paylines are active:
| Paylines | Minimum bet (at €0.20/payline) | Variance |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | €4 total | Lower |
| 40 | €8 total | - |
| 60 | €12 total | - |
| 80 | €16 total | - |
| 100 | €20 total | Higher |
Note — in practice, the total stake is distributed across the lines. But the principle holds: more active paylines means more hit chances per spin, which lowers variance. A tactical choice depending on the type of session you want.
Basic mechanics — Sevens Wilds + Chilli Scatters
Sevens Wilds
The red/yellow/white 7s are the wilds. They substitute for all paying symbols (cherries, lemons, melons, plums, grapes, bells). With 5 reels and 100 paylines, several Sevens Wilds landing at once can create massive cross combinations.
Chilli Scatters
The red chilli peppers are the scatters. Their quirk: they pay from any position on the grid (they don't need to land on active paylines). Regular dopamine in the base game.
⚠️ No feature trigger — the Chilli Scatters just pay their own value; they don't launch free spins (since there aren't any).
Official RTP — 97.25%
| Slot | RTP | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Plinko XY | 98.91-99.16% 🏆 | Instant win |
| Lucky Lady's Clover | 97.31% | 5x3 slot |
| Burning Chilli X | 97.25% | 5x4 slot |
| Book of Cats | 96.99% | 5x3 slot |
| Mechanical Clover | 96.8% | 3x3 slot |
Burning Chilli X has the top RTP among BGaming's 5x4-format slots — higher than Aztec Magic Bonanza (96%) and Bonanza Billion (96%).

The ideal slot for this budget. Paylines 20-40 + bets of €0.20-0.40. Low-medium volatility, 97.25% RTP — you can easily play 3-4 hours on €50. No bonus-buy temptation to worry about.
Medium budget (€300-500)
Paylines 60-80 + bets of €0.50-1. Regular hits from Sevens Wilds + Chilli Scatters. No need for a bonus buy (there isn't one) — a slot for a comfortable, long session.
